Hello!
Once the skin starts losing nice and young appearance, you begin to use different cosmetics. Their main component should be collagen. This substance works best when it comes to restoring the skin’s beautiful appearance. Why? Read my text and you will see.
What is collagen?
Collagen plays a significant role in the proper functioning of all tissues and organs in our body. The word itself comes from Greek and means producing or generating glue. Indeed, collagen acts as an adhesive, because it is part of the skin, bones, cartilage, tendons, teeth and cornea of the eye. Collagen occurs in combination with hyaluronic acid and elastin. Its task is to moisturise and soften the skin, as well as to provide bones and tendons with stability. If there is an adequate amount of collagen in the body, it is more resistant to harmful factors coming from the outside.
Collagen and its effects on the body
Thanks to collagen, our skin, hair and nails are strong and beautiful. The complexion is radiant, moisturised and there are no visible wrinkles; hair does not fall out and has a natural glow; nails do not break and do not split. However, with age, the level of collagen decreases, the appearance of the skin, hair and nails worsens, the skeletal system weakens. Wrinkles appear on the skin, discolourations become more visible, the amount of water in the body decreases. Our physical activity is reduced, bone fractures and dislocations occur more and more frequently.
Collagen in cosmetics
Collagen is very often a component of many cosmetics. Their action is mainly based on moisturizing because the molecule of this ingredient is too large to penetrate the skin. In the cosmetics industry, usually marine collagen obtained from fish or plants is used. We find it in face creams, eye creams, body lotions, nail polish and hair preparations. Collagen has a nourishing, protective and smoothing effect. It protects the skin, hair and nails against water loss.
