Homemade foot products? Why not? Creating your own scrubs, masks and creams gives you tremendous satisfaction and apart from that they are natural, don’t cost much and are easy to make. Additionally, I’m sure that all the ingredients needed are already in your kitchen.

Today I’m going yo tell you how to prepare your own foot scrubs, foot masks and foot creams. Learn my recipes for homemade foot care products.

How to prepare DIY foot scrub?

Why should you use foot scrubs? Obviously to smooth feet out and remove dead skin cells that are rather hard and unpleasant to the touch, right? Actually, there is more to foot scrubs than that. For example, such foot care product improves blood flow in skin which is why it regenerates skin and nourish it. You should use scrubs after taking a bath because keeping feet in water for a little longer makes them softer so it’s easier to remove dead skin cells.

How to apply a foot scrub? Keep rubbing the product into feet for a few minutes, let it sit for a short while and then rinse. I always follow with a moisturizing cream because firstly, I hate dry feet and secondly, skin absorbs nutrients better after being treated with a scrub.

Homemade coarse foot scrub

Foot scrubs with coarse exfoliating agents (e.g. sea salt) are useful in case of really hard skin. I make mine by combining 2 spoons of cream with 2 drops of essential oil (I’d recommend you to use either lemon or green tea oil) and a half cup of salt. If you don’t want to use cream, you can go for olive oil or natural yogurt.

Homemade cinnamon foot scrub

Take fine sugar and combine it with a half teaspoon of cinnamon and 2 spoons of honey. Once ready, you can start massaging your foot with your diy scrub for 5 minutes. This is how long sugar needs to melt on our skin.

Homemade oat flake foot scrub

I do like oat flakes and I’m not talking about breakfast only. If you want to, you can check how beneficial are they for your foot skin. Take brown sugar and oat flakes (2 spoons of each) and then combine with honey, lemon juice and a dash of olive oil or any other natural oil (castor or avocado should be just great here).

How to prepare DIY foot mask?

Foot masks make one of the best options for taking care of foot skin. How so? For example, they improve looks and condition of foot in a snap. The good news is that you don’t need any expensive drugstore masks to improve your foot at home. Therefore, instead of visiting a shop, go to your kitchen.

Homemade regenerating foot mask

Combine 3 bananas with 2 spoons of yogurt/butter milk/cream and apply to foot skin. Let it sit for 15 minutes and rinse. Follow with a foot cream. You should use it once a week.

Homemade foot mask with milk and oat flakes

Sometimes I also mix oat flakes with a small portion of warm milk or yogurt and then add honey. You should let this foot mask sit for 15 minutes to enjoy the benefits.

Homemade foot mask with avocado and yogurt

Let me start from saying that this mask can be also applied to face. Why is that? Simply because avocado is good at nourishing skin and balancing pH. At the top of that, this green fruit leaves skin smooth. How to prepare the mask? I just take one avocado and mash it with a fork. Then I combine it with 3 spoons of natural yogurt. Now, I can apply the mask to my feet, wrap them with foil and rinse after 20 minutes.

How to prepare DIY foot cream?

Do you know that you can prepare your own foot cream at home? And such product would be all-natural since you can use oils and cosmetic butters that don’t spoil fast providing that you store them in dark jars.

Homemade nourishing foot cream

Combine 6 spoons of shea butter and 5 spoons of olive oil (or any other natural oil) and coconut oil each. If you have some essential oil close at hand, you can add a few drops to gift your homemade cream with a nice aroma. I guess the best here is peppermint oil or eucalyptus oil, but of course the choice is yours. So, combine the ingredients and put your homemade foot cream to a fridge for 30 minutes. Then apply it to the feet.
