I say UV radiation, you think – sun creams. I bet most of us think it’s the only way for protecting the skin from the sunlight. Surprisingly, there are lots of other methods that will shield you from the action of UV rays.
Do not sunbathe (?)
I guess it’s impossible for most of you. There are few people who dislike warming themselves in the sun and showing the tan off. On the other hand, you cannot avoid the sunlight. The sunrays fall through the windows, they are reflected in the sand grains, they break through the tree branches. What if you can’t do without the suntan? Use bronzing balms, powders and self-tanners. They deliver a nice, gold and olive skin shade. Should you run away at the sight of the sunlight? Not exactly… Do your best to avoid the sunlight between 10 am and 4 pm. Choose the shadowy part of the pavement. Remember that snow flakes reflect the sunrays.
Sunscreen gadgets
You should prepare the necessary gadgets before a long walk or trip: good-quality sunglasses, a wide-brimmed hat and an umbrella. While buying sunglasses, check the UV filter – the higher, the better for your eyesight. Don’t get dirt-cheap ones as they give no protection. On the other hand, they can cause serious diseases (cataract, cancer, macular degeneration). What are the perfect sunglasses? They have the right sign, protect eyes against UVA and UVB radiation, and are as big as possible (great if they cover the around-eye skin).
Sun shades
You don’t wrap them around your body. You use them for covering windows in your car and house. If you spend all days in the office and your desk stands next to the window, try out sun shades. You often drive a car? Stick the shades to the windows to reduce the radiation. In this way you will save your skin from UVA and UVB rays.
