Hello everyone!

Have you had your morning tea already?

Do you prefer black or green?

I’ll give you a word of advice: it’s best to have both of them at hand because each of them allows you to create amazing, unique and easy to make DIY cosmetics. I know how much you love homemade cosmetics. So today, especially for you – homemade “beauty tea parlor”.

DIY – HOMEMADE COSMETICS WITH GREEN TEA

You will need tea leaves (preferably organic). Instant tea is not a good idea because its effects are much weaker.

How to do it? It’s extremely easy: make an infusion, chill it and use as:

A face toner

The face toner with green tea brings relief to all irritations and inflammations, soothes the skin, slightly lightens, and slows down the aging process (green tea has the power of antioxidants that sweep away free radicals). If you want to strengthen its effect (eg for acne skin), add a few drops of eucalyptus essential oil or tea tree oil to the infusion of green tea.

A compress for tired, swollen skin under the eyes

The green tea infusion chilled in the fridge is a perfect remedy for tired under-eye skin. It will reduce swelling of the eyelids, slightly brighten and moisturize the skin, and if applied regularly – it will help to reduce fine mimic wrinkles. All you need to do is soak two cotton pads in your tea and place them on your eyelids. Hold them for a quarter of an hour, and after removing – pat the excess of tea into your skin.

If you want to experiment a little bit more with homemade cosmetics – you can prepare a few-component face masks based on green tea. The simplest one is the one for dry skin: all you need to do is to mix 1 tablespoon of ground green tea leaves, 3 tablespoons of fat milk and 2 teaspoons of wheat flour. Hold the mask on your face for about 15 minutes and then rinse with lukewarm water.

Green tea mask for oily skin has a few more ingredients: infusion of one tablespoon of green tea (pour a little water to make the infusion stronger – about 100 ml of boiling water), mix with whipped egg white, 1 teaspoon of lemon juice and a tablespoon of finely ground oatmeal. It’s best if the petals are thrown into a hot tea infusion – you will sooner get a thick paste, which (of course cooled down) should be applied to the face for about 15 minutes.

DIY – HOMEMADE COSMETICS WITH BLACK TEA

As before – tea you use should not be instant, but with whole leafs, organic and strong. After you brew it, you can go ahead and use it as:

Dark hair lotion

Black tea gently strengthens the color of dark hair. We use the infusion as a rinse once a week, after the last washing of the hair. It’s enough to pour 2 litres of water over about 5 tablespoons of black tea and boil (bring the tea to a boil and cook on low heat for a quarter of an hour). Drain, cool down, pour on damp hair after washing. This hair lotion from black tea perfectly polishes the hair and makes it become soft and shiny.

Nourishing and smoothing body bath

Black tea perfectly refreshes and smoothes the skin, so go ahead and pour it into the bath. If you want to intensify its action, brew it together with sage leaves (2 tablespoons of black tea and 2 tablespoons sage with a liter of cold water and cook on low heat, covered for 20 minutes). Strain the infusion and pour into the tub. Just use it twice a week. After just a few baths you will see the difference in skin firmness and hydration.

Anti-wrinkle face mask

1 tablespoon of black tea, with 100 ml of boiling water (it is more or less half a glass), infuse the tea, add 1 tablespoon of honey and 1 tablespoon of finely ground oatmeal. Apply the mask onto your face and leave it on for a quarter of an hour. Then, wash it with lukewarm water.

Moisturizing and astringent toner

Brew the infusion of two tablespoons of black tea with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Such a toner moisturizes and provides the skin detox giving it a nice color (gently brightens it). Lemon juice acidifies the skin and balances its natural pH. You can keep the prepared toner in the fridge for 2-3 days.
