Lately I’ve been seeing more and more videos on IG and TikTok about how to apply DIY lash extensions. I figured it must be a sign and decided to give them a try to see if this type of cluster lashes is really that great. They are available in starter kits along with all the products needed for applying them. I immediately began researching and testing so I could tell you which at-home eyelash extension kit is the best. Here is a ranking of popular brands that have DIY eyelashes in their range.

How to choose a lash extension kit for beginners?

For anyone unfamiliar with the subject, here a few words about what DIY lashes are in general. To explain as simply as possible, these are sets of cluster lashes that are applied underneath your natural eyelashes. This ensures a much easier application, in addition to the fact that you can’t see the false lashes even with your eyes closed.

You can buy a lash extension starter kit either in-store or online. I chose the second option, because the choice is much wider. Furthermore, most of the kits from popular brands are easiest to be purchased through the brand’s website, and that’s what I opted for.

How to choose a lash extension kit for beginners? Personally, before I embarked on creating a ranking, I hadn’t tried any yet. So, first I read what an eyelash kit like this for home use should contain. The basics, of course, include the cluster lashes. In addition, every lash-styling starter kit should include an applicator, glue, and a protective product. Ideally, a remover should also be included. This is a product you apply to facilitate removing the lashes.

Eyelash extension starter kit – ranking of 5 viral products

Every product I have tested while creating this ranking is a lash extension kit for beginners. I was familiar with them from the Internet. As I mentioned, I’ve been watching lash-related videos on IG and TikTok for a long time. They included the viral products from Nanolash and Tatti Lashes. On top of that, I also tested DIY lashes from brands like Kiss, Lashify, and Glamnetic.

1. NANOLASH DIY EYELASH EXTENSIONS Starter Kit

nanolash Cluster lashes for self application (DIY) - starter kit

I first ordered and tried the Nanolash brand kit. It contains cluster lashes and other products for styling them, including a remover. A huge advantage is that the lash kit from Nanolash comes with 36 cluster lashes (10, 12, and 14 mm), so you can create multiple lash styles with them. On top of that, the bonder and sealer come in quite large volumes, since both are 5 ml. You also get the same amount of the remover.

DIY Eyelash Extensions Starter Kit is a professional lash extension kit, in which everything is very nicely organized and labeled. Without a doubt, it made it easy for me to perform my first application. As did the instructions I found on the brand’s website.

The clusters from Nanolash are soft, which makes them look beautiful following the application. The glue I had to apply to my lashes had a very good consistency. All this resulted in the fact that it took me less than 10 minutes to complete the extensions. For women who would like to try such a fast method, I would add that the DIY Eyelash Extensions Starter Kit can be purchased with cluster lashes in eight different styles. I opted for the INNOCENT version, although I also really liked the clusters named HEARTBREAKER.

2. Glamnetic Lash Extension Kit

In terms of contents, this kit is similar to the Nanolash lash extension kit. Glamnetic also provides you with Bonder, Sealer, and an applicator in addition to the cluster lashes, plus a remover.

The Glamnetic Lash Extension Kit comes with clusters in a range of interesting styles, including something for women who like subtle lash definition, as well as those who dream of a WOW effect. Unfortunately, I have the impression that the lashes do not look as good in person as you would expect from the photos on the brand’s website. Judging by the reviews, this is not just my opinion.

Due to the not-so-natural look, I felt a bit uncomfortable after putting on the Glamnetic lashes. As a result, I couldn’t quite test their durability. Allegedly, they should last up to 5 days, but I took them off after just 3 days.

3. Lashify Starter Kit

This is a lash-styling kit that cost me a lot more than the others included in my comparison. What’s worse, it doesn’t translate into the amount of cluster lashes included. The Lashify Starter Kit contains only 10 of them, and after I applied 5 per eye, it was enough for just one look.

You can definitely tell by the quality of the products that this is a professional lash extension kit. The included lashes are soft and light as a feather. As you can guess, they looked gorgeous on my eyes. I also had a great time applying them. However, is it worth such a big expense? It seems to me that Nanolash cluster lashes are of comparable quality, and they definitely did not cost that much.

4. Tatti Lashes Invisi-Lash Kit

This kit for at-home eyelash extensions fortunately cost about the same as the others from my list. The Invisi-Lash Kit from Tatti Lashes can last for several lash styles. Depending on the number of lashes you choose to apply – from 4 to 8. In the long run, this certainly provides considerable savings.

A big advantage is that the DIY lash extension kit from Tatti can be purchased with lashes set on either clear or black strips. This gives you an option to choose. I opted for the black strip. The brand also provides a choice of lashes in 7 available styles.

Invisi-Lash Kit also includes:

  • an applicator,
  • a brush,
  • Invisi-Lash Bond,
  • Seal Glue.

I would rate the contents and price of the kit pretty high. The eyelashes looked quite good on my eyes, although it’s not a product I intend to associate with for the long term.

5. KISS Falscara Starter Kit

The last lash kit in my selection can be purchased in popular drugstores, which will probably be a big advantage for many women. Unfortunately, at the same time, the kit has one major drawback. Namely, it contains only 10 cluster lashes. The effect is that in my case it lasted for just one application. With proper care, however, the lashes can be treated as reusable.

Falscara Starter Kit comes from a brand that has been known for years. The clusters come with BOND and SEAL, and an applicator. The lashes looked very good and were almost indistinguishable from natural lashes. The advantage is also that applying them went quickly and I had no major problems with it.

It’s worth mentioning that the lashes should last continuously for up to 10 days. You just need to protect them overnight with a dedicated product. Everything would be fine, but the lash-styling starter kit from Kiss does not include it.

Which lash kit is a real game-changer? I recap my ranking

When testing each lash extension starter kit, I paid attention to issues such as how many cluster lashes were inside, what else came with them, how much time was needed to apply them, and how long they lasted for. Having tested 5 products, I know that not all of them are as flawless as they might seem.

However, there is one at-home eyelash extension kit that has worked sensationally, and I hope it will do the same for you. That’s the professional DIY Eyelash Extensions Starter Kit by Nanolash. I fell in love with it both for the look and durability of the cluster lashes, as well as the simple application. However, you have to consider that this is my subjective opinion, and I leave it up to you to choose which product you will rely on if you want to do your own eyelash extensions.
