‘Oh no… another beauty product fail’ – I’ve been there… Have you? At least once in a lifetime every woman hasn’t thought her cosmetic shopping over and wasted money. As I’m a makeup artist and beauty professional, I often test new cosmetics and recommended products. I come across cosmetic failures as often.
I’ll reveal the products I regret most. I divided them into categories: for face, eyes, lips and body. Fancy knowing cosmetics I would never recommend to anyone?
FACE CARE PRODUCTS
I’ll start with skin care cosmetics. I will never ever recommend Dr Irena Eris Algorithm deeply moisturising face and neck mask. It simply doesn’t work, has strange consistency and I can’t find its full list of ingredients. Another face skin care failure is Astor Magic Skin Make Up Foundation that I (sadly) tested. It’s very hard to apply, delivers unnatural effect and smudges everything. No wonder the brand decided to pull it from sales.
EYE MAKE-UP PRODUCTS
Time to discourage you from buying waste-of-money products that I got while creating my eye make-up kit. The first cosmetic that comes to my mind is Diorshow Iconic Overcurl. I expect something more from a mascara than the logo of an iconic brand. Diorshow mascara spreads awfully; its formula clumps and is good for nothing after a week. Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Paint brought another disappointment. The eye shadow is difficult to apply, short-lived and smudges.
LIP PRODUCTS
Two fails from one brand in this category. Pupa I’m Lipstick and Pupa I’m Matt Lip Fluid turned out to be disasters. The effect is fine but the products disappear from lips quickly and make lips extremely dry. I will never buy them again.
BODY CARE PRODUCTS
Self-tanning products have been the most disappointing. It’s really hard to find a good-quality self-tanner. Vichy Idéal Soleil is definitely the worst cosmetic in this category. Every time I applied it to the skin, it would leave horrible spots and made skin yellowish. I don’t recommend La Roche-Posay Physiologique Roll-On either. It was supposed to prevent sweating in a natural way… I’ve never sweated as much!
Summing up: if you don’t have to, don’t buy these products 🙂
